Considered part of the Visalia-Porterville statistical area, Dinuba CA is a growing city in Tulare County California that had a population of 21,453 as of the 2010 US Census. When it was first founded in the 1800s, the name of the community was Sibleyville after James Sibley, a wealthy landowner who had deeded land to the Southern Pacific Railroad Company. It’s said that the engineers putting the railroad through the community named it Dinuba, though there’s no verified source for the unique name. The Alta District Historical Society in Dinuba celebrates this local history.
Today, Dinuba CA is a community that relies on agriculture as part of California’s Inland Empire, an area that provides agricultural products to the US and the world. A good place to sample these products is the local Tory Farms Farmers Market. There’s some fun outdoors things to do such as community parks such as the Rose ann Vuich Park, the Ridge Creek Golf Club. Visitors can take in a game at the Dinuba Sportsplex, and it’s also very close to the Sequoia National Forest. Dinuba is also very close to attractions in Fresno and Visalia CA. A fun nearby stop is the Forestiere Underground Gardens, an botanical garden inside natural caves!
